I just purchased two chrome license plate frames and want to keep them looking new. What product do you guys suggest I use to keep the rust off?

Seal them with SG. If the water can`t get to the metal, the chemical reaction can`t occur (I think).

They are the high quality solid brass ones....at least they better be for the funds I forked out.

I was planning on using the Turtle Wax Chrome cleaner to keep them looking sweet and sassy....

Good, the cheapies always rot out and get stained in no time at all. I, too, bought some expensive ones from Griot`s long ago and am still using them today. I am surprised they have held up so well. The front one is somewhat sandblasted but what do you expect. OTOH, no rust.

I find the hardware causes a little staining when it rust but it`s easily cleaned up with chrome polish or your basic one step wax.

I think using a sealant/wax of some type will probably give the best protection. Good luck with it.

Rather than constantly cleaning the frames with chemicals, why not just seal them right away and clean them with car soap from then on?
