I know the SilverStars light up the road way better than the OEMs.

I agree. I have Silverstars in everything I own, and think they are awesome.

I have had SS in the past, they are an improvement, but do not last as long as other bulbs. YMMV

put some Silver Stars in my 2001 Expedition back in 2001, and they are still working and they did improve night time driving.

I just picked up a set of Nighthawks @ WM. $26 for 9004s. I have to do some driving out in the country tonight, so I`ll see if there is a difference. I have had SS before, and I thought that they did a better job on reflective things (like road signs), but I couldn`t say for sure I was getting a `brighter` light.

    Okay, I`m a dumbass.

Anyone want to buy a set of the GE Nighthawks, size 9004?

I had picked up a set of 9003`s (which I needed), then realized the package was a little dented, so just to be safe, I grabbed the set behind it on the peg...of course assuming they would be 9003`s. Guess what?

So PM me if you want a deal on a set of 9004s. The outer packaging has been torn off, but I didn`t open the inside case.

Take them back if you got them at wally land...they will resell it but in the bargain aisle...seen some there today when I went to get some nighthawks..mine are 9007 HB5...orsams does not make that size in Europe....I hope these are good...

Next I want to install some driving/fog lights may go with Cibie..Hella...PIAA...not sure on which yet..need to do more research on them...I live in a very rural area and street lights are an option here and I live on a dark country road and some times you find cows in the road..deer...fallen trees and what ever else....so lightning is important...

Hope they work out for you..

Well, my gf`s brother has 9004`s in his car-a `93 Escort, so he`ll be getting my mistake as a late Christmas present :grinno: He`ll be stylin`!

Picked up a set of 9003 Nighthawks today. Very nice. Much whiter than OEM, *appear* to be brighter, and what surprised me the most was the cut-off. Very sharp like HID, and two, distinct slanted lines. I didn`t expect that since the reflector wasn`t altered in any way-must be something special in the design of the bulb.

I did not find the silverstar`s all that great. Headlight burnt out in my wife`s 328i and I bought the silverstars (feel for the Madison Avenue marketing). I first but just one in to see if there was a difference. I could tell no difference from the driving or looking at the light when on. I replaced the other then. No difference in my opinion. The cost difference between the OEM part at the dealership and the silver stars was not much. I think an improvement may depend on what OEM bulbs your vehicle comes with.

Same with the Osram Silverstars (my car also uses the 9003/H4 bulb) and suprisingly white since the bulb isn`t colored that I can see.

My first pair of Silverstar lasted about a year and a half. I was pretty impressed considering they were half the price of the PIAA and just as bright. I bought my second set of SS 5 months ago and one blew out. Now I didn`t expect them to go more than a year but 5 months thats crap. I not willing to spend that much every year for bulbs. I took the advice of the previous posts and bought the GE Nighthawks. I compared them with my OEM and SS and I gotta say they were very similar to the OEM. In fact you almost couldn`t tell the difference between the two. However, there was a noticeable difference between the GE and SS as far as a bright white light. I`m disappointed because I was hoping the GE would give me the benefits of the SS at a better cost. Needless to say I`m gonna see if I can return them back to Walmart.

I would like to get the Osram Silverstar for my 2000 Honda Accord but I don`t think they make them.

Does anyone have a link on how to convert the 9005 (high beam bulb) to the low beam output?

Well, I was trying to find the Osram`s for the HB4/9006 size and I can`t find them anywhere. Oh well.

    I read this:

    http://www.cardomain.com/ride/523421/3

and I`m not quite sure what he`s pointing out in the pics, but he says the Euro and US ones are almost the same except for the coating??

Anyways, I`ve had the US-spec SSs in my car for 2 years now and no problems, except I don`t think they`re really as bright as my OEM bulbs. But they sure look better cosmetically
Life is just too short to drive a substandard vehicle...

maybe we should just buy 65 watt bulbs from here?

    http://www.danielsternlighting.com/p.../products.html

if 1350 lumens is standard and these 65 watters put out 2100 lumens that`s a 56% increase in output!
