No they did not. The 3.8L V6 was intoduced in `98 for the base car...same year that the LS1 was introduced for the V8 cars.

That is a `93-`97 body style base level Firebird. The lack of ground effects show that it is not a Trans Am and the rims are base Firebird rims showing that it is not a Formula. The only engine available in the `93-`97 Firebird was a 3.4L V6. Since it is a manual transmission it has to be a 5-speed as that was the only manual offered with the base motor.

I hate to disagree, but `96-`97 cars had the 3.8L....

However, based on the particular style of base/stock rims this car had, and also on the steering wheel (the airbag and control buttons changed style for `95, while the `93 and `94 models had the same one that had been in the `91 and `92 3rd gen cars), and also factoring the stock cassette HU (the `94 had a different type of controls, while the `93 was again a carry-over from `91-2 3rd gen cars) -- this started life as a `93 Base Firebird /w a 5 speed and 3.4L motor.

A quick couple minutes on eBay can confirm this:

    :grinno:

yes the 96 and 97 had the 3.8 but in 95 they switched half way through production so some 95`s have 3.4s and others 3.8`s.

Not if you consider RICE to mean Race Inspired Cosmetic Equipment rather than uniquely Asian. Rice spans all cultures, IMHO. Like the nonfunctional hoodscoops and side vents that came stock on the previous generation Mustang.

Curious, what would the American equivalent to rice be? Meatloaf?

    It wasn`t a T/A. It was a V-6 Firebird.

The sad part is that someone thinks that styling looks good. Afterall, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.....

It definitely isn`t my style, but I do respect the amount of work that went in to it. Too bad it was all mis-guided.....

This is a prime example of why we MUST win the war on drugs.
