I love the black chrome look, even on a black vehicle. Very tasty.

Where can you go to get you wheels black chromed? How can you distinguish a wheel that has been powdercoated versus black chromed? Are there companies that use a better process or will one finish be as good as the next?

Well, this thread made me think about the cycles of (automotive) fashion. In the 70`s cars had chrome all over them, and if you were going to get a set of "mags", they were gonna be chrome (to go with your whitewalls or RWL tires). Starting in the 80`s, as European cars began to influence things, the American cars tried to emulate the "Euro" look (remember the Chevy Celebrity Eurosport?), and the chrome trim went blackout, the chrome wheels turned to clear or silver paint or bodycolor, and the whitewalls and RWL disappeared. The BBS BMW wheels were popular with their honeycomb style, and you saw a lot of similar, as well as other "dish" type wheels, not so many spoked wheels; this continued into the early 90`s. Today chrome is back in a big way, both as trim and a wheel treatment. Spoked wheels are dominant, you almost never see different styles or body color wheels. I almost expect whitewalls to come back.
ugly wheel but you get an idea of the black chrome look

That look ^^ reminds me of the chrome trim rings we used to get for our black wheels in the 60s.
First you took off the OEM hub caps. As you could afford better came the trim ring, chrome hub caps and the ultimate, chrome wheels.
I guess I`m "stuck in the 60s" cause chrome wheels are still the best looking IMO.
Head over to 50 and check out what they can get for ya. They are probably your best bet. Talk to Jason and tell him Steve sent ya. He`ll be a little bit more helpful.
