    Hawk HPS pads

I`m looking to switch to these on my 98 Integra GSR. In searching some say they don`t dust much (less than oem?), others say they dust quite a bit.

    What is YOUR experience?

Also, if you found a pad with less dust but better stoping that they sell fitments for a Integra for, let me know. Thanks!

I have had Hawk HPS`s along with Power Slot rotors (front and rear) on my WS6 for well over 15K. They DO NOT dust very much at all...actually much less than my stock AC Delco`s. A great street pad compound IMHO.:xyxthumbs

    1 Clean WS6,

How do you like the power slots rotors? I have been thinking about getting them for my 01 Mustang GT. Were they a noticable improvement over stock?

    Sorry to hijack the thread

I have HPS`s on both my 300ZXTT and my 240SR and they are very clean compared to the pads that were on there to begin with. On the Z, I orginally had Pagid pads and then tried Porterfield R4S`s, but the cleanest so far are the HPS`s. As soon as the stock very dirty S4 pads wear out, I am switching those to HPS`s as well.

Cool, I may give them a try. I just want to make sure any new pad will not dust much more (or less would be best) than the stock Acura pads.

The HPS`s seem to be the best I`ve found in that regard and stop significantly better.

another great pad is Raybestos Quiet Stop Pads, ceramic VERY low dusting IMO, great stopping, and reasonably priced

I have Hawk HPS pads and they hardly produce any dust at all compared to the OEM pads that were on my Z--they were horrible! Good grabbing power too---no complaints.

Wow, look at the Z drivers popping in here!

I just installed Hawk HPS on my Z last weekend and really like the stopping power. After a week with my OEM pads, my wheels would be noticeably covered in brake dust; now with the HPS, you can hardly see any.

rjstaaf they are MUCH better than my stock rotors (though GM rotors are notorious for warping quickly). Significantly reduced heat which reduced the amount of break fade and I have over 15K on them with no warping. The only thing that I don`t like about them (and just the front set...the rear set doesn`t suffer this for some reason:nixweiss ) is that zinc coating wore off pretty quickly on the hats which now discolor after just a few washes.

Another thing I noticed about the HPS/Power Slot combo is that they are very quiet. They are just now starting to squeek after 15K and more than their share of post 1320 full on break modulation.

Here is what I am going to be putting on the Mustang this summer, will be ordering them in a few weeks from www.tirerack.com. Hawk HPS pads are highly recommend on the Mustang boards that I frequent. Ask about pads and probably 90% of the time most will say Hawk HPS.

Whatever you get just be sure to do a proper bed-in procedure otherwise you will not be happy with them. Ask anyone who complains about aftermarket pads and most of the time they will go "huh" when you ask them if they were bedded-in.
