Since this a customizing forum, I am interested to know what kind of modifications you have made to your cars (and trucks).......

And how much you`ve spent on after-market mod`s......(although its none of my business!)

    Here goes:

    17†Motegi MR7 Chrome Wheels

    BFGoodrich Comp T/A 50 Series

    Custom Painted Engine Bay

    20% 3M Window Tint

    Reflective Concepts Overlays

    Wheel-Skins Leather Steering Cover

    DynoMax Super-Turbo Exhaust

    Audiobahn Bandpass 10†Sub

    Removed Resonator / U-bend

    Audiobahn Power Amplifier

    Buick Strut Tower Braces

    4 Audiobahn Door Speakers

Custom Red / Yellow Loom (by Pam!)

    Street Scenes Speed Grills

    Streetglow Headlight Strobes

    STB & Fender Brace Graphics

    De-Badged

    Painted Calipers & Rotors

    Brushed Alum Engine Cover Overlays

    Removed UnderHood Pad

    Perfect-Fit Hood Protector / Deflector

    Sylvania SilverStar SuperWhites

    Custom Flames

    Lotek Pods, AutoMeter Gauges

Acura Cold Air Intake / K&N Cone

    Stainless Steel Exhaust Heat Shield

    Lexan Intake Heat Shield

    Lloyd Embroidered Trunk Mat

MDM Deck Mat & Custom Plexi GT

I`ve spent about $2400. My wife has bought me about $800 in mods for gifts (Christmas, B-day, Father`s Day!)...

    Total $3200......

Not too bad for a hobby. I know a lot of guys that spend that much on a set of golf clubs!

Will I ever get that back?......NO.....but it`s worth it to me for the fun of MODDING!

    Suspension:

    JBL-GTO-602 speakers in the doors

Kicker Impulse 6.5s in the rear deck

    Miscellaneous:

Cost? I don`t know, a lot more than the car is worth.

    `92 Eagle Talon TSi AWD:
    • Custom Spearco 221-B FMIC and piping (filter relocated to fender well)
    • 3" turbo back exhaust.
    • TRE-ported 2G exhaust manifold
    • TRE-ported 2G O2 sensor housing
    • 2G throttle body elbow
    • TRE-ported 16G turbo (no clip); 34-mm wastegate valve installed to prevent boost creep
    • Autronic stand-alone fuel computer
    • J&S Safeguard (not yet installed)
    • Aftermarket brake pads (Metal Matrix??? I think)
    • Upgraded suspension: Koni front/GAB rear; Eibach Pro-kit springs . . . I also have a set of Ground Control coil-overs sitting in the garage that I haven`t installed yet (includes springs, but will use the Koni/GAB struts I already have).
    • Dunlop SP8000 "fair weather" tires
    • Gauges

      - White-faced gauge conversion

      - center-vent mount holds two gauges, currently VDO 0-30 psi boost and AutoMeter A/F, but I have two new white-faced gauges from Westach to replace those (not yet installed); one is -30 to 30 psi boost, and the other is a dual gauge that shows fuel pressure and EGT
    • Upgraded stereo stuff (nothing to shout about, just "better than stock" . . . Aiwa head unit, forget what brand the door speakers are (Panasonic?), and an easily-removed sub-box in the hatch (not built in)
    • Tranny recently completely rebuilt and freshened
    • ACT 2600 clutch
    • short shifter and bushings
    • Salvage yard "big-brake" upgrade (not yet installed)

The motor is currently out of the car; I slagged the #2 piston at the track and it scored the block. I happened to have a bottom-end from a `90 (a parts car that I own), and the head was undamaged (and recently freshened), so the rebuild shouldn`t be too painful. Nothing special planned for the rebuild other than `95+ pistons, which will bump compression slightly (should improve off-boost performance a bit).

    So far on the WRX:
    • TrunkMonkey!
    • Thermal R&D 3" cat-back
    • Godspeed up-pipe
    • Stromung downpipe (hi-flow cat)
    • 17" Rota Tarmac wheels/Falken Azenis tires
    • Defi HUD boost gauge/turbo timer
    • Color matching OEM side skirts
    • K&N panel filter; hacked airbox
    • Prodrive springs, to-be-installed (TBI)
    • Goodridge braided stainless brake lines, upgraded pads (TBI)

I have plans to add an intercooler sprayer this spring, maybe fuel control if I can drum up a few $$$ detailing friends` cars with the warmer weather. The computer is about $1000, but worth about 20 whp on an otherwise stock car, plus the ability to tune for modifications as they start to exceed the abilities of the stock ECU.

The highest compliment I have been given on my mods is this:

"Your outta control.......I mean seriously outta control!"

    I responded: "Thank you."

    Thanks, Detailbarn.......

It`s easy to "over-do-it" when it comes to mods.

I subscribe to the less is more theory.

Your theory goes with my mod list. Cat back Flowmaster, 4x4 wheels, and a chopped intake.
