It`s been a few weeks since I installed the SilverStars... I have to say I am very happy with them!! For just a drop in upgrade they are awesome. They are much sharper and more vivid and seem to have a better light pattern. Anything else on the road (except for HID of course) is much more yellow and dull.

A good $25 bucks spent (after rebate) in my opinion......:up

I bought some PIAA`s for the Tahoe about 2 months ago after reading about them in Car&Driver.

I must say I`m rather disappointed in them. True, the color is whiter, but it`s no brighter than it was with the stock bulbs. HIDS4Less doesn`t list a `02 Tahoe kit, so I`m sorta stuck until something comes around.

I`m really disappointed in the Tahoe`s lighting system; way too poor for such a heavy vehicle with moderate brakes. Hmm, having said that, perhaps a Brembo kit is in order? hmmm...

I also bought Philips bulbs from PowerBulbs.com, nice people and from memory they have the AutoExpress tests links.

The Eurolite bulbs 9006 i purchased in november have already failed! I was so surprised Tuesday morning when i turned my lights on to go to work, that the passenger side bulb had burnt out.

I went on friday and purchased a set of Sylvania Silverstars and installed them. When i checked between the new Silverstar and the existing Eurolite, the Silverstar seemed a little whiter, crisper.

I took the Eurolight set back to the place i had purchased them from and was refunded my money, no hassle. The guy said that he had a bunch of them come back for the same reason, and he hopes Eurolite comes up with a more durable bulb.

I will post again if i have any longevity problems with the Silverstars.

    Cheers!

ryeh2o, where in Toronto did you find the Silverstars? And for how much? Also where did you purchase your Eurolites?

I usually get lightbulbs at Pacific Mall (Kennedy and Steeles), and the place where I get them from does not offer exchange or refund.

Glad to hear you had much luck with the Silverstars!

Another location to buy SilverStars in Toronto is Performance Improvements, at least the Kenndy location. They are $70 a pair.

My recommendation would be the PIAA`s. People I know who have used them have been pleased with the results. I bought some Catz Galaxy White`s for my car, hoping I would get the ballasts later for the HID look. Unfortunately, Catz discontinued the Zeta ballasts, and I`m stuck with the Zeta bulbs I spent $100 for.

I LOVE my PIAA Super-Whites. Not a hint of blue.

I`m kind of sad that Jngrbrdman will be out blinding people with his ill-mated "HID conversion".(I use that term loosely)

    http://www.intellexual.net/hidframes.html

Halogen housings are not designed to focus the light of HID properly. Even with a Catz kit where the bulb can be adjusted to sit within the housing, the cutoff lines and dispersion will be right out the window.

I understand the quest for better lights; I would love a set of HID`s myself and thats why I have spent so much time researching them. However, unless you spend a lot more than "5 bills", you`ll only be a menace on the road, blinding every oncoming driver.

Sorry to be harsh, but I have to share to the roads with you.

Eurolites often fail after a couple of months. Get SilverStars, PIAA and believe it or not, Cool Blue`s from Canadian Tire. They last forever, not to mention the light is better than average.
