One of the mobile paint shop in my area painted my car door. Initially, the car door looked same in terms of finish and color like the other car doors. In few months, the newly painted door turned rough and it looked different from other doors. The paint shop guy is not returning my calls. I have attached pictures. Is there a way to fix this without repainting? Thanks for the help.

In my opinion, with a few decades of automotive painting, the answer is no. Which is why the guy won`t return your calls, he knows it. This condition can not be corrected by any sanding, compounding, etc, as an error took place when the paint material was applied.

Painters are like chefs. The good ones end up in fancy places and the crappy ones end up in McDonald`s. Would you go to McDonald`s for a great burger?

Your best recourse is to send a written letter asking for a refund with a strong hint of going to court if he chooses not to pay out. Then find a quality repair shop to fix the damage.
