About 2 years ago I undercoated an s13 240sx dash. There was severe heat and sun damage which caused splitting all the way down the foam. to the plastic. Its an alternative to make an immitation vinyl look-which can be painted. The texture can be reduced with reducer or a thinner.

For the cracks, Cheap epoxy at lowes was used Loctite A & B. Was filled, Let SET. Then skim coated with added baking soda or talc powder mix to epoxy for fine sanding.

Rest of the Dash was sanded with 180 grit then shot with cheap dynatron rubberized undercoating.

    $15 epoxy

    $60gal Dyna-Pro $30 30oz

Wondering how this held up. Does it get sticky in the sun? How is it as far as cleaning goes? I have an antique truck with a cracked vinyl dash pad that either needs replaced or some sort of repair. I thought about filling the crack with epoxy or spray foam then trimming it smooth and recovering with new vinyl. The replacement dash pad is quite expensive.
