Subject: EFCOO82ODC New Exterior Lighting Core Return Program

A new Exterior Lighting Core Return Program will be launched on November 1, 2011.

The program is designed to recover and permanently remove damaged exterior lights from the market. With removal of these damaged lights from the marketplace, we hope to provide wholesaling parts dealers increased sales opportunity in this product line as we have seen with the Wheel core and Fascia core program market share gains.

PROGRAM OUTLINE

How the program will work:

• Effective November 1, 2011, there will be a $50.00 core charge placed on all newly released original equipment service exterior lights.

• A limited number (26 headlamps and 18 tail lamps) of recently released lights (see parts list below) are initially included in the program, but dealers will only incur the core return charge for these lights purchased after November 1, 2011. As new headlamp and tail lamp part numbers come into the parts system, they will automatically have core added.

• Core credit will be given to dealers when parts are scanned and uploaded by the Regional Core Recovery Centers (RCRC).

o Returns must be made in original packaging. To assist in identifying those lights with CORE, an Exterior Lighting Core Return Program label will be pasted to the box. The label will be a 5”x 9” Yellow Label with Black Letters that reads, “Core Deposit” This label is not required for returns, it just helps identify those new lights with CORE.

o Returns must be made in this original lighting service part packaging.

o Returns will be checked to assure the part number of the damaged light matches the part number on the packaging.

WHAT YOU NEED TO DO

• Alert your collision parts wholesale accounts about the new program to assure damaged lights are returned to you when new lights are ordered. Use the “Wanted Poster” announcement flyer to alert your accounts of the new program (attachment I). Send the poster with your billing statement to your wholesale body shop accounts.

• Monitor your light order patterns to assure adequate inventory of lights. As the program grows, you increasingly can become the primary source for new lights.
