I enjoyed this thread, even if it is a bit old.

I had a sherriff in Idaho get out of his car behind me and make me attach my front plates...right in the middle of an intersection!! I had just left a car show and had a fake vanity plate on the front....big no no on the street. Living in North Carolina now, I can have no tag or a vanity tag on the front...no problem. And as far as the stickers go...one of the benefits of driving an antique vehicle is the one time $50 registration fee and no inspection stickers!

I finally reached that point this March... My 39 year old BMW 2002tii didn`t require an inspection or sticker. Woohoo! Freedom!

I`m suprised that those of you in states with front plates haven`t went to a flip up plate device such as street rodders use. When parked the plate folds under the car and comes out when the key is switched on.Luckily Indiana dosen`t have front plates.

I have tried them. They just didn`t fit well on my Audi and the Porsches are too low. Neat concept, though.
