I recently upgraded the 38 year old BMW brake hoses to stainless steel and in the course of doing so several thing snowballed. They always do, I guess. I found 4 hard steel lines that were somewhat suspect and wanted to replace them at the same time. Luckily I could order the OEM brake lines right from the BMW dealer but unfortunately they were not pre-bent. So I had to do a little fabricating. It was slow going. Measure twice. Bend. Measure twice. Bend. In the end the project took me about 4 hours. But now the brake lines are better than new and should last longer than I do.

Tubing bending tools and some of the new lines.

A newly bent line and a couple old lines that were removed. They weren`t even flexible any more.

After everything was assembled it was time to pressure bleed.

That`s cool that you saw that. It`s a state issued plate but the fact that it is a DB9 is the only way I can remember the number!

Brad B.- Gee, you`re getting a lot of automotive projects done these days, huh?!?

Good upgrade..were the stainless lines for only the front discs or did you also get a third one for where the rear line comes down to the axel (or however it`s done on those, I`m not familiar with `em as you can tell)?

    Yea. Time on my hands!

I replaced every rubber line, in total 6, on the car. There are two on each front caliper. The rear calipers each have one that connects from the axle on each side underneath. They were really a pain to get to.

Brad B.- Ah, thanks for schooling me Six lines huh? Heh heh, that`s twice as many rubber lines (to convert to SS) as on my Tahoe.
