I painted some plastic parts on my car, I sanded them, cleaned them and then sprayed them with Dupli-color adhesion promoter. I then sprayed them with Rustoleum metallic paint for the finished color.

I mentioned to my friend I wanted to get them clear coated with automotive clear coat and he said he thinks it will not work. Said maybe the clear will attack the Rustoleum.

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks.

Yes Gardiner, it can be sprayed with "real-deal" clearcoat from a body shop over the spray paint. I`ve done something similar to a chin spoiler.

Do you have a shop in mind?
I do mobile detailing for friends and family. Might not be the absolute best, but I do it for free.
