I have some used alloy wheels that had some tar stains and writing on it with a marker! The typical washing on the wheels didn`t do anything except remove some of the tar spots. There is a stain on the wheel still and the marker writing is still there. Is there anything I can use to remove this stuff? I was thinking about trying the P21S Gel Wheel Cleaner. Do you think that would be strong enough to remove this stuff?

I`d post a pic of the wheel but I don`t have enough posts to post pics yet

    Thanks in advance.

If the marker is sharpie, acetone or some alcohols will remove it. I know for a fact acetone will work to remove sharpie as I use it in the lab on glassware all the time. Just put some acetone on a paper towel, wipe, done. That being said I can`t say what acetone would do to the wheels or any coatings on the wheels. Therefore, I will allow some others with more knowledge to chime in.

P21S is a great wheel cleaner, however, it may not touch tar spots and/or marker. Most AIOs/tar removers/and clay will tackle those issues.
