My 93 Acura Legend is starting to oxidize on the roof. I tried polishing it out and there is a noticable color difference and the paint is coming off on the polishing pads, I got rid of the ugly white patch but it doesn`t look right.

How much would a quality respray cost for the roof and maybe while I`m at I might do the hood too.

    Can you post a picture?

If the white patch was oxidized single-stage paint, then it could turn out very nicely with a lot of polishing.

If, on the other hand, the white patch was clear-coat peeling off then a respray is the only way to fix it.
A well-prepared surface will make any wax look good.

I`ll get some pics tomorrow but I don`t believe it`s single stage. I`ve polished the car before with no paint on the pads . The roof is starting to look ugly anyways it`s very dull looking even after polishing with Megs 83/80.
