My wife`s Tahoe has some vent visors on her Tahoe that were painted and put there from the dealership but now, 6 years later, they`re cracked, broken, and losing their coating. I`m trying to get them off but the adhesive tape is killing me. I tried some decal/adhesive remover that usually turns glues to jelly but frig... I tried a plastic scraper, a metal putty knife, and a razor blade but I worry about slipping and scratching the paint.

Would a hair dryer be successful?

use fishing line to saw off the vent visor(dental floss works also)

then use your decal/adhesive remover (I like wd-40)

then just wash polish & wax!

I thought about the fishing line but couldn`t find any. I did manage to get one of them off after much prying/trimming but even then I still couldn`t get the adhesive off. The spray alone isn`t working like it usually does, and even spray & scraping was minimally effective.

I assume there is "foam" on the tape?

if so try to scrape it off then

spray some wd-40 on a rag and hold it there

it will disolve it (could take some time )

    good luck

Direct heat should loosen up the majority of the adhesive. Use a hair dryer on high.

then you can remove the residual glue with decal remover
