    Hi all,

This is my 1st post. :hifive:

I`ll get straight to the point.

    I`m buying a used

1999 civic ex coupe 5spd manual

It comes with only 2 rear wheels with Katana rims.

The front are plain ole OEM wheels w/o hubcaps and I want to find wheels to compliment the rear wheels.

What wheels do you guys recommend?

Katana`s seem scarse and that signals not-so-good quality (?).

Should I buy the Katana tezza`s?

The following look similar to the rear pair:

    tezzas

    kazero

    The guideline:

    -$100-150 per wheel

    -approx. 20 lbs. each

-17"x7 - will old lug nuts from Katana`s fit universally?

    -painted silver

Can OEM Honda tires can onto these wheels if taken to a tire shop?

That`s a plate full but i hope you guys can help.

All your input will be highly appreciate!

    Have a great day.

When a company stops making a rim it isnt becuase the rim sucks its becuase its dated and they need to come out with somethin else.

Dont get rims that are *in likeness* to the rears, it will look stupid, buy 4 new rims.

The OEM tire will not fit...Thats kinda a *heres your sign* question.

Your OEM lugs will work fine with any rim.

Go to tire rack and look around.

Also find a civic forum and ask these questions there. Those guys can help you pin point an ideal solution.

Please dont tell people that oem lugs will work fine on any rim. ALL aftermarket wheels that go on honda`s or any other import for that matter require tuner style lug nuts. They are a lot narrower in order to fit on the aftermarket wheels.

Yeah, I have needed tuner lugs for all the imports I have owned in the past. My vote for this car is to just find some nice Si wheels.

    thanks for the replies peps.

i`ll chk out civic forums but i like this one a lot already =)

so buying "look-alike" wheels aren`t good?

i mean, if the aesthetics are the only prob, i really have no prob!

what do u guys think? should i purchase a new set of wheels? or

stay with the present 2 and buy 2 new?

    keep your opinions rollin`

    thanks!

My girlfriend has a 97 Civic EX and has TSW wheels on her car. I really like the look and finish of them, especially when she`s driving. My vote is for just getting a new set of wheels, I think you`ll be much happier with the result.

Here are some pics, tint your windows and get some of these and you`ll be all set! By the way, nice car! I hope you enjoy it.

Strange that your first post would be about what wheels to buy on a car care site. :chuckle:

My girlfriend bought her car with the rims...

You can find them online I just dont know the specific name of those ones. When I talk to her I will ask her the specifics. If you`re looking for a deal I know ebay has some good deals on rims sometimes. Just make sure the seller has a good rating.

every set of aftermarket wheels that i have seen for honda`s required aftermarket lugs. Not only is there a difference in the size of the lugs, but also the seating of the lugnuts are different. aftermarket wheels require a different type of seating of the lugnuts then what the factory oem ones are. having the wrong type of seating for your lugnuts will cause the wheel to not be fully secured to the hub.

no problem, between me and the misses we have had 2 acuras, and 3 different hondas. and all but 1 had aftermarket wheels put on. the aftermarket lugs were needed on all of them. Plus then you get locking lugnuts for them which puts a little peace at mind if the car is parked outside.
