Cheap paint job. A must see!

I have actually seen this on another forum. I guess it looks alright, but the lack of close ups and the missing depth seems to make me think money on a actual, good paintjob is money well spent.

Yeah, I have seen several paint jobs done like this. For some reason the owner is always proud of what they did but it always looks like junk up close and to an autopian. To me it is just a lazy person who doesn`t want to take the time and paint the car right or work for a really nice paint job.

i too saw this on another forum. I think it`s perfect for a beater car that you don`t want to spend a lot of money on.

I was thinking that to. I know it can`t compare to real auto paint but given the fact it was put on with a roller it looks vary impressive.

Why not just buy real auto paint for about $450-500, and do it the right way?

1) what would this look like with a clear coat?

2) Ya know what I am going to attempt this in the near future with my mom`s $1000 92 civic. the paint is already beat to hell, some rust on the car. She would like the car to be red, so I`ll document it for you guys. AND i`ll see what it looks like with a clear. Sun pics and all

It would look the same. Still orange peeled to junk unless you spend a week wetsanding.

It`s possible I guess to make it look good w/ alot of work. Don`t laugh, lol... but I used to be into computer modding. I knew plenty of guys that would sand, prime, sand, paint, sand, clear, sand, polish their cases... all using rattle cans... and the finished paint job would HONESTLY look clearer and deeper than anything I`ve ever seen in person on a car. But still, that IS alot of work, and a computer case is not nearly the size of a whole car... but just saying... it`s possible.

Case modding is relatively easy to do when you use rattlecans because the area is very small and flat.

On large areas, you will have a difficult time painting with rattle cans because the paint lays down splotchy and entirely too thin. Then, on contours and edges, you won`t have enough paint buildup so when wetsanding time comes, you`re going to have some bare edges.

For a cheap repaint, just take the car to Maaco.
