    Need help from the pros.

I am not a detailer, but I`d love some advice from those of you who are. I have an `02 black Honda VTX 1800 motorcycle. She is my pride and joy. I was wondering if anyone could help me out with keeping her looking her best. I don`t have all of the tools at hand that the pros do, so I hand wash her and hand wax her. I bought it used, but very clean, but it has some swirl marks in the paint. So my question is this...

    1) what product can I use to get the best, deepest, wettest shine on my black paint job? Remember... I`m doing this by hand. One person suggested Meguiar`s NXT.

    2) Is there a way to cover the swirl marks, by hand?

    3) what is the best chrome pollish?

Thanks for all of the help. I`m sure that with your help, I`ll have her looking new again in no time.

    1) I suggest Poorboy`s EX-p followed up with Natty`s. See my pic below.

    2) You can hide them with a glaze but it is not worth it IMO. They coem back too quick. I would start with Poorboy`s Polish with Carnuba, and then follow up with eX-P and Natty`s.

    3) I like Wenol for a chrome polish.

I have two black Harley Davidsons. Harley Davidson has some excellent detailing products and I have used most of them. They all work.

My current practice invloves using non-Harley products.

For black paint: First clean the engine and frame etc. with S-100 Cleaner. I use the S-100 cleaner on my tires too. Do not use S-100 on your tank or fenders. Then wash the entire bike with a quality shampoo (NXT).If detailing by hand, use Meguiar`s #9 Swirl Remover to get rid of your swirls. Wax with NXT Tech Wax. Top with S-100 Wax if you want. I do not top the NXT with anything. In my opinion, it`s great as is.

For the chrome: Just use NXT.

Wash the bike with a soft cotton mitt. Dry with a microfiber towel. Remove all polishes and waxes with microfiber polishing cloths. This practice will help to prevent swirls.

    Tom :cool
2 white Tacomas and 2 black Harleys. I got half-way smart.
