My 05 Deuce is Vivid Black and its a bear to keep from scratching. I use two bucket method for washing with Meg`s Gold, air dry and every time I wash it gets carnuba wax to no avail.
I can`t wait till I get my mods complete then its repaint for me.

My name comes from owning BMW cars and have never worked on a BMW bike. Wouldn`t mind.

I`ve got two bikes lined up for the next two days. Harley and a Honda V Twin (looks like a Harley)

I tell you what I use. Two polishes that I like. Poorboys Pro-Polish or Semi-chrome the later is better on aluminum, but works well on all metal surfaces

Pro Polish does do a great job on chrome. I retired the Mothers and a few other chrome and aluminum polishes the day I discovered Pro Polish. Nice job on the bikes btw

Have you used Semi-Chrome? On aluminum its better than PP+ IMO.

Its a small tube and fairly expensive, but a small amount goes a long way. For softer metals like aluminum I find it to be better than anything else I`ve used.

Here is a link to what it is

I`ll second Simichrome. I`ve used it for years. I do have PB pro polish 1 & 2 and like them both.
One day I`ll get to do my own car.

What`s the story on Simichrome, anyway? Used to be the local H-D dealer carried it, but I haven`t seen any in about a year....

I still see it at H-D as well as metric shops. I used it 30 years ago when it was about the only game in town. Really worked primo on soft aluminum using a polishing buff on a drill or die grinder. Wenol red, Meg`s Mag & Aluminum and others are comparable, IMO. I recently gave Optimum`s metal polish a try and was astounded there was little to no black residue but it cut & shined as well as anything! My go-to these days is P21S/S100 polishing soap. Cleans crud, polishes, shines & protects a bit and is easy, easy, easy! YMMV.

When you get the aluminum polished up hit it with Opti Coat. I`ve been finding more and more uses for that stuff.
