Question Boat wash (with another boat question)

I know we`ve got some boat guys who visit (or used to, anyway). You guys got any recommendations for a strong boat wash? Mine`s been covered since last September, and I want some kind of wash to try and knock some of the crud, mildew, etc off without a whole lot of elbow grease.

I`m also taking it tomorrow to have the auto-oiler blocked off. I`ll have to mix it manually, but I`ll have the peace of mind that I know it`s getting oiled instead of it locking up on me going down the river. Anyone got any horror stories in that regard?
I still don`t believe in grit guards.

I used Crud Cutter last year on a bass boat that had been docked in a lake for almost a year and was green from the water line down. Its actually a house wash but it worked really well. The guy brought it out to me and said it might work..it was his boat so I figured what the hell. I was impressed with how easy everything came off. I think Lowes or Home Depot carries it but I don`t know how much it is.

Krudcutter can also be found at walmart in the paint section.
Roll Off works good on boats. Dilute it 50/50 it doesnt need to be used full strength.

I second the Amazing Roll Off, haven`t used Krudcutter.
Is the engine an OMC (Evinrude/Johnson)? If it`s an older one that uses the pulse type oiler as opposed to a gear driven pump, pre mix is the only way to go. During my many years in the marine industry I saw literally hundreds of those spit pistons. I thought you bought a Merc though? HMMM, don`t really remember.

Well, just to update everyone, I did get her all cleaned up using regular ole Spray & Wipe. Turns out whatever I used for protection last year did a really good job of allowing me to just wipe it clean.

And yes - it`s a Merc. I went ahead and had the oiler taken off and did my own premix starting with this fill up. It`s amazing the peace of mind I had not having to worry about the yellow light flashing when I`m miles away from the ramp.

And, if anyone is interested, we did well fishing yesterday. The fish are definitely biting.

Claying does not mean "High end". It means quality/caring. So would actually learning a trade instead of "Hey I can wash and wax a car, so I`ma gonna be a detailer."

Re: Boat wash (with another boat question)

I`m a catch and release guy - no one in my family will eat fish with me. Lot of hassle to go through just to grill them up for myself. Now if I wanted to grill some fish, I`d go out and catch me some crappie in the early spring or some catfish. That`s good eating.
