    How much would you charge?

A friend of ours wants me to wax his tow rig, it`s a newer Kenworth/P-Built (one of those) with what I believe is a 35 ft trailer. It`s white with a red stripe across the bottom, it`s in good condition but it has some streaks running down the side he wants off and a good coat of wax. Roof needs a good washing too, but that`s it...I`ve never detailed a semi before, just washed them. Since it`s white I figure I could hit it with a cleaner polish to remove the streaks, and for some decent protection a coat of Meguiars #20 via orbital waxer. Besides the paint I`ll be doing the basics like tire dressing, clean windows/wheels, clean chrome, things like that. I feel I`m being a bit cheap with myself here but I`m going to quote him at least $380+. The old owner took relatively good care of it, it just needs some basic TLC, and it was washed about 2 weeks ago and only gets driven to the race track on Saturday`s, it`s not a disgusting, bug crusted daily driven rig. So what do you guys think, sound like a fair price?

I would think $500 would be more what you should charge, trailers are very deciving.

Based on your description of the vehicles and presuming you don`t have to polish any aluminum $450 minimum. The Tractor will be the hard part. It`s smart to wash the roof on that trailer, that`s where the dirt is, and it shouldn`t take much more than 2 hours to do that trailer. A little tip: If you get tired of hand wiping your polish off of the trailer you can pressure wash it off. Put a 25 degree tip on and follow the line from top to bottom. Works like a charm.
