    Need info on boat detail

Need some assistance. I have a customer that wants me to detail his boat. It is not a yacht but it is large enough to take out at the coast for fishing. I have never detailed a boat-should I stay with my normal hourly rate-is there anything I should know about fiberglass. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I`ve never done a boat either. Most detailers I`ve talked to say that you should charge by the foot.

I would say to charge by the foot as well, I know that SeaTow does when you get stuck

if you dont already have a hull cleaner....On & Off...by Mary`s boats ( or something like that) works very well on caked on scum. just be sure to take proper precautions...this stuff will burn your nasal passages right off if you breath it in....probably not so good for the brain cells either....just be careful. It will save you a lot of elbow grease though

Thanks for the posts on detailing the boat. I went and looked at it yesterday. It was raining here and cold so it was a good day to research the shape the boat was in. It was surprisingly in very good shape. The customer told me that there was a misunderstanding from the third party that told me about the boat. The actual customer only wants it washed. I agreed to do the job because another steady customer will have his truck at the same place and I can wash the boat and detail my regular customer`s truck. I had apprhensions about detailing the boat but it all worked out.
