So, this was supposed to be a review of 1Z Anti-Insekt. But, you will see what happened.
I`m not usually one to "clean bugs" off my car. I`ll just wash the whole car. But, the bugs are as bad as they are going to get here in PA - although I know they aren`t Florida bugs. My car was pretty clean - it was just plastered with bugs:
***Disclaimer - this is all on the clear bra, which I know isn`t perfect. The white you see on the edges is the edges lifting - not wax. I`m not super concerned about the clear bra not being perfect, as it`s a protection device that is easily replaceable. It looks fine from a few feet.
So, knowing how this will go (water will get somewhere I don`t want it to get)... I decided to first pressure wash the area using DI water opposed to tap water:
Last week I applied another coat of BF MS to the whole car, including the clear bra:
What I found after pressure washing was, none of the bugs stuck to the BF MS. No Anti-Insekt was necessary. They just flew off. 98% of the bugs and guts were gone. All I had to do was grab some waterless wash (GDIUDJ) and a towel and wipe off 2 tiny spots...
After pressure washing - no wiping or chemicals used:
Then, I also learned a long time ago that wiping black cars dry will show marring that is visible. So, I always use DI water and dry with air:
Finished...
So, the moral of this story is PA bugs don`t stick too well to BF MS and no chemicals or even soap was required to remove all the bugs. Also, I highly recommend anyone interested in detailing with a dark car to look into getting some type of DI water set up, a Master Blaster and/or a Sidekick. It really makes things easier and gives you better results with less work.
