    Pad cleaner for BFWD

I recently tried BFWD on my new truck and I`m completely satisfied with the product but I can`t seem to clean it out of my pads. I used Snappy Clean pad cleaner and soaked the pads for 24 hours and I still have product in the pads.

Any other pad cleaner out there I should try?

I used Dawn Power Dissolver (Walmart $2.83) after BFWD and the pads were as good as new--removed everything. Few sprays--work in with thumbs then rinse well.

bfwd does have a great affinity for foam pads. snappy clean usually does a pretty good job.i always blot the excess from the pads with paper towels and often use a good hd degreaser, dawn, etc. once used for bfwd, that pad becomes my dedicated pad for bfwd.

The only thing that I have found to completly remove sealants from foam pads is an overnight soak in Mineral Spirits. The following day I rinse and clean with a brush in Snappy Pad Cleaner. After a final 50 or so rinses the pads are in like new condition.

Removing BFWD from foam pads is very tough. Best to have a dedicated pad. For cleaning I soak overnight in a strong Dawn solution then finish with straight IPA. Still never get it all out but removes any excess that gums up. I use a lot of BFWD and only wash the pad once a week or if it gets dirty in some way. Otherwise I keep it in a sealed ziplock bag.

Exactly my thoughts. Once I use a pad for BFWD, it becomes by BFWD pad

Thanks for the replies, looks like those two pads are now BFWD only.

Same. I clean it with exterior dilution of APC after each use, but like everyone says, I can still feel it and smell it in the pad. I have one pad that I just continue to use for the BFWD. Since the pad is being used with only machine weight to spread the product, I expect it will last quite a while.

Same for my hand applicators (yellow foam discs) that I use for BFMS, BFWD, Coll 845...I wash them out and then keep them in their own ziploc bag that is labeled for the product I use it with.

Washing machine with snappy pad works wonders.

I soak mine in APC overnight. Then hand wash next day. About 95% clean.

If I don`t have dawn power dissolve I usually use APC to clean my pads.

I`ve tried a number of products but the best that I have found is Chemical Guys microfiber cleaner. I have tried DP pad cleaner - doesn`t touch it; Chemical Guys pad cleaner - doesn`t do much more; Dawn - does something, but not enough; APC+ seems to do a decent job if I use it concentrated enough. A

t some point, it isn`t cost effective to clean a pad. I use LC CCS pads for applying sealants/coatings and they only cost about $6. If I were to use Black Fire Microfiber Cleaner, I`ll bet I could get pretty close to $6 pretty quickly. LC Sealant spreaders are even cheaper - and just as hard to clean.
