I do all of my paste waxes by Hand. I don`t care for popping them out of the tub to apply them for a pad & DA.

I usually use the yellow foam applicators pads or the ultra soft red UFO pads.

I try to do everything by machine and I try to pop them out of the tubs. It is not always easy. I will do some wax over sealants by hand since the surface is quite slick.

This usually works best for the softer waxes like Midnight Sun. Now, Mothers is a hard paste and is supplied in a shallow wide tin so easy to get a 5-in pad into it.

Personally by hand. I really enjoy the feeling of apply a premium wax by hand. It`s very relaxing and gratifying.

That said, you can do it by machine if you chose. Remember that Midnight Sun is designed to applied and removed wet. You don`t let it dry. So apply to a few panels machine and buff off immediately

When I am using Finish Kare FK1000p I use the machine so I can work it in good. Since it doesn`t pop out of the can I cut a little spatula or kind of like a knife out of a lid from an ice cream pail. I just scrape it across the wax lightly and then smear little dabs in 3 to 5 spots across a red wax pad and go to town on the car. I would rather hang onto the machine on big area then have to go across it by hand 3 or 4 times to make sure I covered everything.

Because it is WOWO, applying by hand is the easiest/best method in my opinion. I use a machine for sealants/waxes that I have to put on and let haze for 30-45 minutes. So basically, when I`m doing the whole car before any removal starts (such as BFWD or Coll 845).
