Blackfire Tire and Wheel Cleaner Review

Blackfire Wheel and Tire Cleaner Review:

This is my review of Blackfire Tire and Wheel Cleaner. Meghan was very gracious in asking me to test several of the new products in the redesigned Blackfire product line. I must say that so far this has been the most impressive new product I have tested from new Blackfire line so far. In short, I found the Blackfire Tire and Wheel Cleaner to be AMAZING !!!

When I received the Blackfire Wheel and Tire Cleaner I had to think of a car to use them on since my all of my wheels are coated and I usually only need soap and water to clean them.

I decided to test the cleaner on my girlfriends 2009 Lexus RX330 wheels. This car sees a ton of road miles and the wheel are not maintained as well as they should be. These wheels were the perfect candidate for this product with tons of brake dust on the wheels and dirt on the tires. Blackfire Wheel and Tire Cleaner states that it is safe for a wheel types.

One of the features that stood out for me with this product had to do with the application. Blackfire Wheel and Tire Cleaner tends to be on the “thick” side and when I applied it the product immediately clung to the surface of the wheel. The product is a bright red color and as with some other wheel cleaners and iron decon products most would think that the red is an indicator of a reaction to iron on the wheel surface. However, after looking over the directions and product description, I did not see where the Blackfire Wheel and Tire Cleaner had any “decon” properties for wheels similar to products like IronX or Sonax.

Immediately after application I could see the product working and breaking down the brake dust and dirt and crud on the wheel and tire surface. The directions state to allow the product to work for approximately 30 seconds before agitation and rinse. After about a minute I started working on the wheels and tires with various brushes to get them clean.

Another interesting feature of this wheel and tire cleaner was the foaming action. After agitating the product I was treated to a nice foam on both the wheel and tires. A simple rinse produced an amazing clean surface on both wheel and tire. The product also rinsed very cleanly.

Overall I was very impressed this product and only wish I had more of it to use. My bottle only had about ¼ of a 32 ounce bottle and a small portion of that had leaked during shipment. I only had enough to test on about 4 wheels. I can see this product being a contender to other wheel and tire cleaners like Meguiars Non-Acid wheel cleaner (D143). For a wheel product that is both a wheel and tire cleaner in one this product is a winner !!!!

    The candidate:

    Immediately after application. No agitation.

    All Clean !!!!!

Sweet! Thanks for the review, Pat! I`m eager to see how competitively this one is priced

As you commeted, its intresting about Blackfire Tire and Wheel Cleaner being red in color since we have come to expect red = iron remover. How did the product smell? Red like cherries?

Angus..the product smell is very mild and kind of hard to describe. Even after spraying onto the wheel and tire it was not very caustic at all and I wasn`t gagging. Very pleasant to use.
