    Blackfire over silver ice

Got to help a friend detail his new 2016 Chev Camaro ss painted in silver ice on Saturday. He had the car for a couple months , but has kept the mileage low until his backordered custom chev wheels came in and he had time for a detail. super nice ride with 6.2L 455HP+ (actually closer to 470 hp wit some added performance options, hp exhaust etc. 8spd auto trans with manual paddle shifters, magnetic ride control suspension, air induction, on and on. very quick! the paint finish looked very good, no orange peel, obvious scratches or swirls. I discussed the options of coatings, sealants, waxes, etc. and the owner decided on non abrasive polish, sealant and a final wax topper, a perfect candidate for some of my favorite blackfire products. time to get busy.
first up was a megs gold car wash foam down and wash, followed up with a iron-x spray down. initially the paint didn`t appear too rail dust contaminated, but after a few minutes the iron reaction stains began flooding off the finish onto the driveway. my friend Robert jumped right in to help speed things along.

after the iron x was foamed off, the finish had a slightly rough texture with a plastic bag test and was quickly clayed smooth.
we decided to proceed with the non abrasive bf gep on green lc pads, which cleaned up the surface nicely as it seemed to blend right into the paint. we followed up with two coats of bfwd. the sealant was newly purchased and felt a little more grabby during the application than my older versions and was a little more difficult to remove than my older stuff, but no real problem and the sealant was allowed to cure overnight.
on sunday morning, we re foamed the paint and applied a coat of bfms by hand. this newer version of bfms also felt a little more grabby upon removal compared to my older stuff, but still not a problem. in the past, I have done a side by side test with bfwd and bfwd topped with bfms and really couldn`t tell a big difference between each, but this time the added shine and gloss with the bfms over the bfwd was very noticeable and looked great. the fire over ice combination continues to be one of my favorites. my friend Robert was very happy with the results.

I`m just kidding(kinda). I have a soft spot for a nice Camaro. Not the biggest fan of the 90`s, early 2000`s ones myself, but I absolutely love me a `69 Z/28!

wow, that`s a nice little package, but no, and i`m not sure what the tackiness of the new stuff was from. humidity here in FL is pretty brutal and can wreak havoc on different products. I sometimes wonder when there are new clearance sale prices on different products that they are really just clearing out older stock supplies. at any rate, what I had worked fine and a little bfwd goes a long ways. still one of my favorites.

I want to but at the same time I don`t want to because I enjoy not having a car payment.

Never been much of a Mopar guy myself. But you have good taste in the 69 Z28. My uncle has a 69 RS and I would not mind having a 69 either.
