3D BDX Brake Dust Remover Review + Giveaway (Giveaway CLOSED)

This weekend I got the chance to try out 3D`s newest product - BDX Brake Dust Remover.



I used it to clean the wheels and decontaminate the paint on a 2004 Mercedes-Benz S500. At $16.99 for a 24 oz bottle ($0.71 per oz), it`s one of the most cost effective options for chemically removing brake dust or iron particles from the wheels, paint, glass, or metal surfaces. And that`s before you dilute BDX. For this first test, I decided to try BDX undiluted.

24 ounces is a lot. About 50% more than I`m normally used to when I pickup a bottle of iron remover, so as soon as I picked up the bottle I appreciated the amount of product I was getting. The second thing I noticed is the fully adjustable sprayer. Unlike other sprayers that only give you three spray options (spray, stream, and off) this one allows you to set the spray pattern to your liking. I set my spray pattern to about the size of the spokes on these Mercedes wheels to minimize product waste.

While using BDX, I thought to myself that the odor is much lower than other Iron Removers. I didn`t find any "fruity" smells lingering around after rinsing everything off or while using it. For the most part, the fragrance of this product is neutral. Also, as far as viscosity...the product seems thin to me. I`ve used every iron remover available on Autopia-CarCare.com and this one seems to me like it`s the thinnest. The only way to confirm this would be to compare the viscosity of BDX to other Iron Removers, so if anyone has a Rotational Viscometer laying around I think this would be a good test. But even if my suspicion (hypothesis?) is correct and BDX is only 5% thinner than it`s competitors, it would make it 5% more cost effective as you`re using less product per spray; adding even more to its value.

Overall the product worked great.
