Press Release

On Friday 16th August, around 5pm, one of the buildings of the Swissvax AG plant in Fallanden (Zurich) became the scenery of a major fire. The main warehouse, containing all Swissvax raw materials and semi-finished products was completely destroyed. Despite the violence of the fire, the prompt intervention and relentless efforts of several Zurich firefighter departments, has prevented any major damage to the Swissvax HQ offices, IT infrastructure, production and logistic facilities.

More importantly - nobody was hurt in the incident. All Swissvax personnel was evacuated safely and all rescue workers remained unharmed. Official experts have meanwhile confirmed that no toxic vapors or harmful byproducts were released into the environment.

While the exact cause of the inferno is still under investigation at this point, the damage caused by the fire and consequent total collapse of the building is substantial and estimated at several million dollars.

Swissvax AG has meanwhile confirmed that they will resume business on Monday 19th August and no major interruptions are to be expected.
