    Thank you for posting!



    I have the "rectangle" in my classroom (a taped off section on the floor). Surrounding this are 12 medicine balls and stretch bands. During the day and after students have worked for 20 min. or so, I call out a category...."no laces to the rectangle." If you have shoes without laces, you may go to the rectangle and exercise quietly. One student made a chart of "sets" and another brought in stickers. The are tracking their progress. At their young age, I stress low weight, but high reps. They LOVE the rectangle and many say they notice new found strength.



    In addition, I`ll use articles on health for our non-fiction reading, summarizing, paraphrasing, and other expository writing.
