Ive noticed that my UDM vibrates significantly more than usual, as well as compared to my friends UDM.

It seems that where the backing plate screws into, that nut that you use the wrench on seems to swivel, and i dont believe it should do that. The machine also seems to get unusually hot, and i could barely touch the backing plate when i took it off.

the production date is 5/1/07. This is my second UDM, as my first one conked out on me, and was replaced right away by you guys. Im just worried something will shear off while im polishing, and ill do some severe damage to whatever im polishing.

    Thanks,

    Nick Caputo

So i unscrewed teh counterweight, and retightened it, and it seemed to reduce some of the wobble in the backing plate, but after 10 minutes or so of polishing it was wobbling again.

I got another udm and it was brand new. However it`s cord started cutting out - same problem as the first one.

Several months ago, but the issue started too soon after I started using it.
