Does kinda make a point re: the fragrances and dyes. I`d guess that enough testing has been done on the Gyeon, Carpro, etc to insure the dyes and such evaporate away (or something) leaving a truly clean surface but still...

I`ll admit to liking Gyeon partially due to it looks cool to me and I enjoy the bottles when I catch a glance. Mainly, because it works for me but most differing brands work pretty much the same so I guess I`ve been `marketed`.

Gyeon and Car pro are the same thing, just different colors. I can’t tell you how I know but I know someone. That product looks interesting. I’ve been using Griot’s paint prep, but may give this a try.

I wouldn`t be surprised in the least Is this crazy or genius

I`ll still enjoy the nice colors but perhaps it`s some to look into. Anything that helps...helps, in my case.

Re: Is this crazy or genius

Years before you guys and gals were born, we used gallon cans of Dupont Y3919S Prep-Sol, and another one later I believe Y3900S Total Kleen, that were clear liquids used to clean all areas before Priming and Painting...
Never had any issues, never had paint or primer below upchucking itself in the form of paint peeling, etc...
If the products in that video work the same, and are way less, then why not try it out?
Just mind how it works on things like trim, etc., until you are sure its ok..
Of course, you will be trying it out out on your vehicle first, before a Client`s, right ?

As far as their paint preps go, or across their product lines?

Question about the Griot’s paint prep - Been a while since I’ve had the bottle out, but doesn’t the label on that one say to rinse off when you’re done? Or is it basically the same as other paint preps where it’s fine to spray on/wipe off?

Re: Is this crazy or genius

I regularly use Rustoleum Wax and Tar Remover, it is light years better than CarPro Eraser. I currently have almost a gallon of Optimum Paint Prep that when I put into a container, I mix 31oz of it to 1 oz of Mineral Spirits because that`s what makes it prep the surface, Optimum by itself just doesn`t remove TSO`s, and yes with the Optimum/Mineral Spirits, I again neutralize the surface. I am a huge fan of the Rustoleum and also a huge fan of N-914 in the paint prep ratio, but as far as price is concerned, the Rustoleum cannot be beat. I`ve put Rustoleum on repaints, domestic paints, German paints, British paints, and Japanese paints without issue... I am not quite sure how it does with single stage, but should be able know by the first of September.

I`ve been using the rust oleum for years myself. I don`t know if it`s any better or worse than anything else. I`ve not had a reason to try anything new. Like said above, before that it was prep sol.Is this crazy or genius-image.jpg

    Is this crazy or genius

With the sale on reboot , I’ll be picking up some paint prep.
Here are some others to consider

The Blackfire is 32ozs. Which sounds good.

    I know zip on this..

These 2 I’am wondering about. WG looks like $$ .
Gtech has good reviews and is sold out in 16ozs.

The Rustoleum I believe is a go.

Skip panel wipe if you think Eraser is grabby. Panel wipe flashes off much faster. It is stronger than Eraser.

I applied it then used a sponge on it then rinse it off.

Stokdgs I used DuPont prep sol for many years when I was doing paint and body. The stuff couldn’t be beat!
I ran out about 5 years ago. I have no idea why I switched products. Sometimes the old ways are still probably the best ways.
Makes me want to check my cabinets that are full of the old days products. Probably no good. I’ve thrown out a bunch of it already.
