    Interior questions...woolite??

well today i was bored so i did the interior of my dads `02 Lincoln LS. Its white with tan interior. now this is what i have and used on this car.

    1. Woolite 6:1 in a spray bottle on dash and doors
    2. simple green on hard scuffs on door.
    3. Prowax leather cond. on everything.

    NO PICS too lazy
i didnt do the seats or the carpet they dont need it. But when i was using the woolite on the doors. it seemed like it wasnt cleaning very well. I dont know if its not strong enough or what. And when i was putting on the leather cond. it wasnt spreading well and was uneven i really had to work it in. was that because of the woolite on there? .. i think its just the car. :drool . What do you guys normally use to clean dirty door panels and dash`s? I usually used Super clean APC from walmart. that stuff was good. but safe?? just wanted to see what you guys are using and what you reccomend for different cars and sittuations..

    thanks

I use woolite and water mix like you mentioned above for the doors ,dash, kicker panels , steering wheel and just about everything else. If it `s not working that well for you try a different app./brush/pad. I like blue scrubbies or 0000 steel wool. With the woolite mix it seems it needs aggitation to work well. I use it on leather also .

    :yeah

I think you need to fit the applicator with the degree of dirtness. If a towel isn`t cutting it for you try something else. What works great for me are these 2 sided pads I found at the grocery store , one side is a terry pad the other is a cloth grid like scrubber. It looks like netting but its made of heavy thread , make sure its the thread type not the plastic type . The plastic leaves marks and scratchs. You also might when to follow up your woolite cleaning with a raise using a wet cloth , woolite leaves a soapy residue behind. Thats what works for me

I used Woolite and warm water to clean my mom`s interior when she had a can of root beer explode inside (she left it unopened in the car when it dropped below freezing). It worked very well on the seats, headliner, carpet, and door panels.
I poured a spot about the size of a half-dollar in a 5qt bucket, and used WalMart MFs.

Perfect. so 6 parts water, and 1 part woolite correct?Would it be too diluted if i went 10:1 so that it wouldnt foam as much when xtracted?

I find that whatever i my ratio is whether it be 6 or 10:1, I seem to always get a fair amount of foaming. you can add a little defoamer to your extractor`s cold water tank to reduce the amount of suds you get.

Thank you for the tip travis (if that is your name). Does anybody know where to get a good deal on the Bissel little green cleaning machine?

No problem, and yes my name is Travis. You can find the little green machine at walmart, kmart, or target for about $40-60 for the non-heated, and about $80 for the pro heat version. A lot of people suggest the non-heated version but i have the full upright pro-heat version and like having hot water. It`s really up to you in the end. Amazon and ebay are also good places to look, just stay away from refurbished units. Hope this answers your question.
