I just realized something today that has never struck me, although I am very picky and detail oriented person, I have never clean or treated the rear side of my rear view mirror? Has anyone else missed this area? :beat

Nope that`s all part of the car for me.

In the Olden Days, the rear of the rear view mirror was chrome. Now that they are black, I don`t feel the need to clean them...

That makes no sence to me, mine are painted the same color as the car, its all apart of the car and requires the same protection.

Are we talking about the interior or exterior mirrors?
I treat the exterior mirror housings at the same time that I detail the paint and trim. Some of my casings are body colored metal, so I would just treat it as another painted surface. Other casings are black grained plastic, so I treat it as trim.
Regarding the interior mirror, I just give it a quick wipe when I am dressing my dash. The backs of my mirrors don`t really get dirty, so I don`t put much effort into maintenance there.

I thought that he was talking about the outside but maybe he is talking aout the side mirror of which I do the same as you.
