I just waxed my white bimmer two weeks ago with NXT. It`s been raining here and I was thinking about giving the baby another wax job but put a layer of carnauba wax on top of NXT. Good idea? Also, can I put detailer spray right after a wax job?

You can put another layer on after washing really well. Yes you can use QD after waxing no problem.

When you say wash really well, do you mean using dishwasher soap to remove the old wax? Will the carnauba provide a better shine on top of NXT for a white car?
I think Beemerboy is suggesting a normal wash not a wax stripping wash. I think the fear here is rubbing grit around on your car while waxing.

You hit it nail on the head, all I was saying was to make sure that your car is really clean before you start adding new wax.
Dish soap wash will take the wax right off the car so you are starting at ground zero at that point.

I am sure there are many opinions on this but ...Originally Posted by Beemerboy
If you use a sealant like UPP and immediately use a QD after wiping off the UPP, wouldn`t you be removing some of the UPP, especially since it needs 24 hours to cure?
I can see doing this after the Sealant or wax sits 24 plus hours, but have always questioned doing it right afterwards.
Just my opinion and I am sure there are many differing ones too

What about a layer of pure carnauba wax on top of NXT, will this help?

Still let the NXT sit for 24 hours if possible

Any time you can add a layer it will help with protection so I would go for it!

Thanks guys, I need a PC..
I would not qd after waxing. I`ve noticed under halogens that waxes (s100) get a bit streaky with immediate qd`ing. it might not affect the appearance under normal lighting but i`m sure that this subtle smearing indicates that the paint is not getting optimal coverage.
Wash your bimmer with a good carwash shampoo (NXT). Then apply a second coat of NXT Tech Wax. It`s much more durable than a carnauba wax. Apply NXT Spray Booster after every other wash. IMO it is best not to mix product lines. If you feel a great need for a carnauba topper go with Meg`s #16. I always wait at least 24 hours after waxing to apply a QD.
