getting spare body panels from a body shop???

how do u guys get body panels where u can practice a rotary, pc, or w/e before u`re ready for a vehicle.

i read on autopia some guy mentioning he picked up one at a bodyshop. do most bodyshops just give em away? how do u go by doing this.

i dont really wanna use it on a strangers car and my parents would kill me if i got it on their 760li or Jag.

yup call a body shop at random and ask if they have any scrap panels that you can take from them...9 out of 10 times they are happy to give you something.

I don`t know about body shops, but I got a full size hood from my friendly, "neighbourhood" auto wrecker!

I just went in and told them that I wanted a hood to practice my polishing on, and after a few "strange" looks, and having to explain it to a couple of the guys (who are probably still laughing & scratching their heads:lol), they brought out a hood and loaded it into my car - all at NO CHARGE!!

Maybe I`ll have to try body shops next, because now I`d like a darker colour:lol
