    Abrasives on glass

What is the general consensus on using abrasive polishes on glass? Something like SSR2, SSR1, Pinnacle`s Swirl Remover, etc. I have heard that it will do bad things and I have heard that it is okay. I want to hear it from some of you guys here. If abrasive polishes are safe, then what about products such as Comet, Bon Ami, Bar Keeper`s Friend, etc ? Just been thinking about this lately. As alwway, all input is appreciated.

I`ve used the SSR line up on glass to remove some light water spots. Comet or the likes of those will not hurt the glass that I`ve ever seen. I guess what my question back to you is what are you trying to do or remove?

Beemer - I`m not really trying to remove anything, I am just curious as to using it in the future. I guess if I were to remove anything I would be removing the oily substance that tends to get on the windshield.

So the abrasives would not scratch the glass?

Buy a polish made for glass. One Grand makes a good glass polish, and Pro Products also.

If you going to remove oily stuff on a window use rubbing achcol for that works wonders. Water spots and the likes of those are different

A while back, someone posted that they used EX-P on they`re windows.

I`m pretty sure Steve replied to that post stating it was OK to use EX-P on glass & it would have the same effect as Rain-X by cleaning the glass & filling the microscopic imperfections in the glass.

I like using PB`s Pro Polish or Clearkote`s Vanilla Moose on windows. They`re rely more on chemical cleaners than abrasives, but both work very well on automotive glass.

    Pb Exp

Cool, that`s great someone has tried EXP on windows, I`ll add that to my glass polishing and protection product lineup.

I use PP or SSR? on the windows whenever I do a detail on my truck and with great results. I also use EX or EX-P on all the windows and I especially like that look!
Dream big and be willing to do the work to get there.
