Cool NC DC Meet: Mustang Redone!

Lucky enough today to have a great DC meet with some members (zymolkk / groebuck). I think Groe might have the most products out of all of us. But we are all PB crazy thats for sure!

Victim: Green 1994 Mustang that has endured through 10 years of beatdown: Canadian Winters, NC sun, Mothers Wax, and bad techniques. BADDD Etching, Lots of scratches (deep and light), not too many swirls. Some oxidation.

Big BIG thanks goes to Groebuck for using and teaching me the PC (yes I used it Groe). Also big thanks to zymolkk for some product testing (need to use that PC dude!)

Perspective of 7336sp with 5inch Edge Backing plate:

This machine at first made me scared that I didn`t assemble everything correctly. But after time I found it ridiculously easy. Different speeds make the machine act differently. 6 definitely makes u aware that your really warming up the paint, but its not dangerous snce you can move it across panels easily. 5 is good speed to apply, but 4.5 is best. At 4 I didn`t feel the machine was working fast enough, but you get a hand of it.

All in all... WORTH IT once you turn the PC on, you just move it with your hands. You can use 1 hand even on the wire that connects to the PC. Easy stuff, simple, and NOT dangerous at all.

Tried SSR 2.5 / SSR 2/ ProPolish / 3M Rubbing Compound Fine Cut. Pads: Meg`s polishing /Edge medium /Meg`s cutting (The Edge Yellow Medium velcro died after 2 minutes on speed 6.) Tried MANY combos, but the car was too dead. Even on 5/6 speed we couldnt get the scartches or ething out.

Finally ended using 3m Rubbing compound with a polishing pad.
Sealed with Meg`s Finishing with VM then EX-P

Since I will probably be slayed from no pictures, you can enjoy my 7 year old 1st generation Digital Camera. Enjoy!

After 2. YES I know, my tires are missing 1 spot due to my new use of PB BnB. And don`t ask about the wheelwells, there is prob still 10 years of crud there waiting to be shot out by some Greased Lightning.

The car will get more pictures after I get 3 coats of EX this week. Many thanks to everyone who taught / coached / talked / helped me: awd330, Poorboy, Dwayne, Nickc, and Groebuck! (Groebuck doesn`t like dirty rims even when I kept spraying 4Star Wheel Cleaner Gel)

We tried cleaning it, but I definitely need something stronger. Even my Trim needs a degreaser since we tried Trim Restorer. Detail took 4 hours so we sorta had alot of fun. Groebuck needs to use his PC when I do so we have 2 at once.

Sorry no group picture. I do think Groe wouldn`t mind me taking a picture of him next to the fan, he looks like the Next Michelin man

it was hot - so I would pull my shirt out and it filled up with the air :lol - the paint could do with a dance with a rotary - woob would smile when I said I was thinking of buying one! (get a gallon of it... I think that is his catch phrase!)

The wash was quick to get the paint clean - we tried on the wheels but man there was a ton of gunk there! We could have spent 4 hours washing it .
