Well maybe I will have to try half the hood with clay and the other half with QD. This vehicle is a garage queen. Thats the reason I think it is industrial fallout. I have a company vehicle that I drive M-F, so the only time this truck is out is on weekends. When it is out on the weekends I am very careful as to where it gets parked. I still think S & W might be the way to go. For the time being I think I will try clay and QD and see what happens. Thanks for the input.

For me, claying seems to affect the top layer of wax/sealant. Whether this is because the layer is being removed, or if it`s being covered with clay residue or lube residue, I`m not certain. :dunno All I know is something is different after claying. I only clay when I am planning to polish right afterwards, so I always wind up reapplying the wax/sealant anyway.

I imagine that the abrasiveness of the specific clay brand/model would also play a part in determining how much (if any) wax or sealant it would remove.
