Automatic Car Wash Research

I know I have been asking a lot of questions lately (ok only two) but I need to start somewhere.

I am trying to develop a business plan for a detail shop and one of my points why a customer wants a hand washing/detailing is that automatic car washes can imbed dirt with high pressure water and the rotating brushes can cause paint scratches. However I would like to back up this point with a couple of articles, surveys, etc. so the consumer knows I`m not just trying to sell them a service, but that they actually need it.

Can anyone point me to research data or website (maybe I could just link to a post here on the board??) that more or less states what I said above.
