Collinite #845 Insulator Wax or Collinite #476s Super Doublecoat Auto Wax

I am looking for a durable wax and was wondering if anyone has used either of these and what do they think of them. Also, does it stain trim?

I use the Insulator wax on the inside of my polished alloy wheels (both clear coated and non-coated). Provides a very slick surface to retard the build-up of brake dust.

I believe it will stain trim (though not sure because of my application). It does dry to a white haze and there is a white dust during the buff process.

It doesnt stain the trim at all. Its by far my favorite wax (845).

Oh, one more thing. Ive never tried it but Ive heard the 476 is harder to use than 845. Really, I dont see how they (or anybody else) could improve on 845. Its great at everything.

Is 845 a wax or a sealant? Also, does it contain cleaners?

845 contains no cleaners and is called insulator wax so I guess it is a wax.

I just applied 476S to two of my vehicles - first time. It went on a little harder than it came off. No trim staining and no dusting. Much like P21S. Apply it thin. I think the reason it went on a little hard for me was because the temperature was in the mid 60`s. I think if it was warmer it would go on easier - just guessing. I like the look. Very glassy like. If not being able to get the wax out of the sponge is any indication, this stuff should definitly last.

I was at this position, choose the Insulator Wax that was easier to use but questionable durability over 476S? I decided if I apply via PC the 476S will stay very durable. Since its a durable wax, might as well go all the way

#845 is the liquid version of #476 if you want to work a little harder then buy the 476 they both work well and perform in the winter.
