    chemical guys products

    Hi guys,

Got a few questions about CG waxes and stuff.
Is it just me, are do a lot of their waxes and sealant offer some great looks, but beading and sheeting is terrible... as is durability.

And their descriptions are so confusing. They are one-step waxes, but don`t contain cleaners or abrasives, but have natural cleaning abilities...

Anyone who can shed some light on waxes like extreme dept liquid carnauba creme wax, butter wet wax and pure carnauba creme wax?
Hows beading, durability, looks and do they contain cleaners?
I asked on the CG forum, but no response from any of the CG crew

IMHO you`ll never get a strait answer where the information hasn`t been previously contradicted. Stick with other brands for LSPs.

Was thinking of pb nattys blue. But need a great wetlook, so have to decide on blue paste, blue liquid or red...

Youre correct - waxes have oils in them that make clean paint look great, but because they are waxes, they instantly attract dirt..
And because they are waxes, they also tend to give up rather quickly and go away..

C/G`s website has always been challenging to use and there is just too much information..

I prefer to not use their products because they have no durability in my experiences..

There are those that swear by their stuff and more power to them...

    Not in my Shop, thanks...

^ Agree, product information is too often lacking and/or confusing. It`s not like there are no competitors, so I find CG easy to avoid.

They are hit or miss. Some stuff of theirs I love, other stuff I`m like I can`t believe I ordered this. I live in So Cal, so I often go to their store front at the warehouse they have. They`re nice people and it`s nice you can see all the towels in person to judge them better.

    Soap and towels don`t disappoint.

I can`t imagine anyone would order Lava based on CGs description unless they were just curious. Pete`s 53 and 50/50 have fans and they are excellent waxes.

I find CG a strange lot. Not boutique, not budget. With the new labels, they appear ready to go more commercial, et al Griot`s.

I use and really like 50/50. Great wax. Version 1 was awesome.

The blacklight v7 combo looks great. Thats why I wanted to try one of their loquid waxes that are supposed to give an amazing wetlook. But why an earth make so many cleaner waxes...

I agree on the towels. I have not used but a few of CG products and most were ok but not great but they have MF towels that are very good and a few of them are better than anything I ever got anywhere else.
Other than towels I buy elsewhere.

It`s a shame though. They have some interesting products.
Just can`t figure out why none of themèis designed to bead and sheet.
I know looks matter the most, but if I detail someones car and it rains, and they see crappy beading, they won`t be pleased I think.
    I surely wouldn`t be

I like their shampoos and EZ Creme Glaze, but I`ve always thought their product lineup has too much duplication.

Yes I have the EZ creme Glaze and it is good but on my Black Corvette Poorboy Black Hole Glaze works better.

I have to agree. I have used both and feel that the Poor Boys Black hole just leaves a nicer deeper finish on darker colors where as the EZ Creme Glaze does seem be better for lighter colors giving them a nice brightness. I don`t use a lot of their products but I will say that I do like their V7 and Petes 53 wax.

I use their towels and microfiber wash. I also just tried their ECOwash and liked it too.
