My favorite OTC product is Duragloss. I`m a big fan of their car soap DG901 and their AquaWax.

I second that on the Duragloss products. i have tried several wash soaps and always come back to their soap. Their whole line of products is great. They have a very durable sealant with DG105. I use it a lot on my details. It has great looks with extremely good durability.

Meguiars. I just did a detail that will be featured in high performance Pontiac magazine highlighting me using over the counter Meguiars products that the average person can get easily.

The Duragloss stuff stocked in stores like Car Quest is quite dusty..obviously not much stock turnover.

Sadly, I note that here too with DG and CARQUEST, very limited stock on hand, not even Aquawax which I tried getting yesterday in fact.

Even when I order from them, the products look like they sat on some shelf somewhere for many months. Still, never noted any issues with shelf life stability from any of their products, all have been very good.

Meguires - great polishes - some of the best - lousy waxes - some of the worst....

I get duragloss straight from them - shipping is $5 flat....buy rinseless by the gallon...

and I have a "non car person" friend with a new black MB C250 and all she does is spray on Aquawax after a touchless run thru car wash...looks fantastic

Personally knowing that touchless doesn`t remove that last bit of oily residue (road grime)...isn`t her practice bad for the paint?

    Re: Best OTC products?

My vote goes for Megs and Duragloss. Personally, I have not cared much for the Mother`s product except the clay bar get is good. That being said, I usually can`t find the products easily. The Meg`s Gold soap is easy to find, but otherwise I have not seen a lot of availability. So, ordering online if my preference.

Washing I use Turtle Wax zip wax car wash and I like it. Mothers gold wash and wax or even Megs wash should be good choices. For wax if you can find Surf City Garage carnuba wax that I have seems to a decent wax but wouldn`t look at it for longevity. I don`t have any other suggestions for wax for over the counter other then the Megs or Mothers brands.
