    hard hard water

Having moved to FL, I find the water is very hard. SO I have been using more soap and a cap of onr in the soap water and a capful in the rinse bucket.

I have been thinking about using something like calgon in my buckets... But knowing that most water softerners are salts, has anyone had experience?

    Positive or negative results?

Ron it`s one problem we have in paradise, hard water! I recommend getting a water softener that will work for your place or maybe the Nuvo Home Salt Free Water Softener that I heard works very well. P.S Just finish washing the wife`s car and had to hurry up so there won`t be any spots on the paint.

It`s city water and I`m renting. It looks like there is a water softener in garage, but it`s not active

Maybe one of these might work: Clear Water Filter Kits

I`m pretty sure you will be fine if you use a salt water softener. I`m not 100% sure on that so don`t take my word for it. But we use to own one and you could not tell there was any salt in it, and the water softeners they have out now are really accurate on how much salt to mix with the water. The salt is not there to make the water salty but to neutralize the impurities. Do your homework and make sure though.

You could also use a good detail spray to take out water deposits left behind. Also vinegar and muratic acid will take out any metals in the water. But I think your best bet is to get that water softener working again.

Normally use pb spray gloss to dry with a ww and that takes care of the spots. but sometimes the drips after get me.

All but one of my spigots is tied fed by my whole house water softener. I even water the backyard with softened water !

You should see if you can find gallons of distilled water cheap in your area?
