Duster Brush

Does anybody use those Duster Brush. Someone said I show get one What do you think about them.

I use the California duster between washes. It works well for me. I have not had scratch my surface. I also use Poorboys SW after dusting. Great combo.

I also have a mini duster that I use for my interior. Also a great product.

I saw a cool microfiber duster brush on concoursdirect.com. Looks like a cool idea. I use the california car duster currently, and although it works well, I often get red bits of thread stuck on the sap and other debris that`s stuck on my paint. I think the microfiber is more resistant to unravelling like that.

Also, even though the Cal car duster`s worked wonderfuly so far, I`m still always a little nervous using it, and I think the microfiber would trap the dust better and be less prone to scratching the paint.

At $9 each, it`s a pretty good bargain, but I am thinking of cutting up one of my own MF towels, and making a homemade duster. Hehe will do that soon and post pics and thoughts. =)

I did it in about 15 minutes,

ingredients:

1 (Old) MF towel - I say old because you don`t want to cut up a brand new one!

1 Swiffer Duster (tm) handle - or any other nicely shaped handle

2 Velcro strips (I got the double sided ones, but the ROUGH (hooked) side is the side you need.)

1 plastic water bottle, or piece of thin plastic.

Wrap velcro strips around the Swiffer Duster handle a bunch of times. This will grab the MF towel, so you can detach the towel easily for cleaning.

Cut the Mf towel into a rectangle, about 21 inches long by 10 inches wide.

Cut the plastic bottle up into a curved rectangle about 7 inches long by 3 inches wide.

Fold the MF towel, along the long axis (so you have a thinner rectangle, and not a square.)

Cut little fingers into the towel. (See picture - looks like tentacles!) This will cause a lot of MF bits to fly off - shake the towel vigorously - outside - to get rid of all the bits.

Put the plastic bottle piece on the towel, then fold the towel over the plastic piece. This should take up 14 inches of your 21 inch long towel.

Then place the velcroed section of the handle on the towel.

Fold the remaining 7 inches over the velcro.

Tada!
