A good APC (all purpouse cleaner) then you can just follow up with a dressing of choice.
You have activated my special ability....
:yeah or just some good old fashioned Flat Black spray paint....

I USE APC THEN POWERWASH AND DRESS WITH SOLVENT BASED DRESSING .. I LIKE SOLVENT BASED BECAUSE ITS REAL SHINY .
back in buisness baby
I hose mine out, use a cleaner if necessary. Then I spray tire dressing in them to make them look really good. :cool
Clean: MEGS APC+.
Treat: Megs Engine Kote.
Better than silicone treatments as it dries hard and does not pick-up as much sand/dirt as other dressings.
In fact, I`ve been using EK for all suspension detailing except for rubber bellows etc on stearing assy, which then I use 303. Dries nice and flat and looks darn good.
For shows: Megs #40 or Stoner MSLT anything slightly glossy, not too glossy though.

EK is going to be discontinued but I investigated a tip and took a look at Mop n Glo floor shine to dress thr wheels. The two products look extremely similar so when my EK is gone Im going to be using Mop n Glo or its equivalent in a spray bottle

Mop n Glo on wheels? I`ve never heard that one before!! I`d like to see pics of the results if you try that.Originally posted by Bill D

Sorry, meant to say wheel wells. A good sealnt should do well on wheels themselves. I picked up some Mothers Clear Coat wheel polish recently and really like the results: silky smooth feel, very high gloss shine

Oh ok wheel wells with Mop N Glo. I`ve used mop n glo for it`s intended purpose and I guess it would probably do well in the wheel wells, just never thought of it that way.Originally posted by Bill D

Me neither, apparently its a tip that made its way to Autopia from other boards. On Autopia I have a photo of the two side by side in cups, the MnG looks a tan color and smells lemony whie the EK is white and smells very strong, "waxy" . Other than that they seem liike very similar substances.

The wheel wells of my Accord are lined with a sort of fiber material that seems to have a soft surface. Power washing leaves them looking kind of `whitish/greyish` looking and it`s not really all that nice to look at.
Does anyone have experience with cleaning and dressing this type of wheel well?? Sorry if this is a stupid question.
Thanks.

Clean them as best as you can using your favorite APC and a terry towel. Hose them real well and let them air dry. Once dry, spray them with flat black spraypaint and allow it to dry. Once dry, dress `em with your favorite dressing. Every so often, repeat these steps if the standard washing and dressing isn`t working, of if the paint starts to chip or flake.
It is also not a bad idea if your gonna do this to apply a coat of wax to the vehicle and leave it there untill after your done spraying, this helps keep any over-spray from sticking to the paint.
