I`m going to be using Optimum MF pads for the first time. I don`t have compressed air to clean.
What are some tips for general usage, finer tips for advanced usage and tips for cleaning them?
Thanks!

I would clean them after every panel or section. The cleaner they stay the better they work.
Try wrapping a roll of tape with aMF towel. Turn the polisher on lower and rub the towel over the pad while laying flat. it is simple yet effective.
Great idea there Troy, or you can invest in a Canless Air system. It`s environmentally friendly!

A bug sponge has been suggested several times.
Alright I`m probably going to get this [ame=http://www.amazon.com/Metro-Vacuum-ED500-500-Watt-Electric/dp/B001J4ZOAW/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1352217487&sr=8-1&keywords=Metrovac+duster]Amazon.com: Metro Vacuum ED500 DataVac 500-Watt 0.75-HP Electric Duster 120-Volt: Home Improvement[/ame] for cleaning.
Any tips on using the MF pads ie speed/pressure on pc?
bumpity bump
Besides compressed air, the Megs pad brush is what I use and it works almost as well as the air does. Use after every pass, not every panel. I clean the pad before putting on more compound or polish.
Now I have not used the Opti MF Pads, but I have used the Meg`s version many times.
1. What machine are you using? I am using a PCxp.
For speed I would suggest around 4-5. I have used speed 6 but only in limited bursts. When used at FULL BLAST the Meg`s tend to haver issues. So med -full power.
As far as pressure. I suggest meduim for most uses and only real heavy pressure in short burst as well. You want to let the pad do the work.
Following on Troy`s comment, I stick with a 5" pad or smaller on my PCXP. Except on curvy spots, I can use a 6" on my GG6. I apply pressure just until the motor starts to bog but not enough to stop the pad.
As has been mentioned, they work more efficiently with frequent cleaning.
i thinks pinnacle makes a yellow foam block for bugs that you can use and /or pad brush
I am using the PCXP. Thanks for the tips on how to use them Troy and mjlinane
