    Stripping Sealant.

I am looking to try a new sealant on my Wifes SUV and my older Acura.

The paint is in great condition, I might have to do some spot buffing with 105/205 on my wifes car.

But for the sealants on the car right now, my wifes car got a coating of BFWD back in June, a coat of BFCS in August and another coat 3 weeks ago.

The car wash soaps I have are Ironx Snow soap, BF, and Griots.
Whats the safest best way to strip the sealant off?
    Ironx then IPA?

I use the Iron-X but have never been a fan of a ipa wipe down. Never had a problem so far.

The best way is to wash w/ 1-2 oz of APC in the wash, then Iron-X, Clay, Seal...

Agree on Dawn and APC combo.

Sealants are not as easy as wax to remove.

To completely strip the existing sealants and wax give each panel a good cleaning with a paint cleaner. This will also remove stains, embedded grime, and slight oxidation......

    fwiw, he is my regiment.

    • wash with 2x the concentrate of quality car shampoo - no dawn as it tends to dry out rubber bits
    • IronX if needed
    • Spray entire car with P21s TAW, lightly agitate with schmitt, let dwell for 10 minutes. Rinse thoroughly
    • Clay
    • KAIO via DA
    • Final wipe down with Menzerna Top Inspection to remove any residual oils.

At this point either compound/polish or go directly to your favorite LSP.

I agree. I have a bottle of P21s paint cleaner for this purpose.

I`ve been using Pinnacle paint cleansing lotion for this.

I tried a sample of this & the BF version and didn`t think either cleaned as well as KAIO - at least comparing the dirt level of the white flat pad I was using. Without a doubt the KAIO pad contained more dirt then either the Pinnacle or the BF. With that said, keep in mind that`s all I`m asking from my AIO solution, so YMMV.

    Re: Stripping Sealant.

When looking at all the paint cleanser like Pinnacle Paint Cleaning, P21S, Blackfire GEP, and Wolfgang Paintwork; Is there a difference? All of these chemically clean the surface for a LSP right.

Does one work better than another.

    I couldn`t agree more!

PB Pro-polish is one of the best IMO for cleaning paint
