    Collinite Prewax Cleaner #840

I tried a search but I only found 2 threads. Has anyone used this product? Thoughts and impressions? I`m looking for a prewax cleaner and I`ve looked at a few but I don`t see much mention of this product.

It is a very good cleaner capable of removing some pretty heavy oxidation but it isn`t for use on clearcoats.

Thanks for pointing that out, I didn`t even notice. That might have something to do with the lack of discussion

You are probably right...it is an "Old School" product but very effective for it`s intended use.

Collinite Prewax Cleaner uses a diatomaceous earth abrasive, which makes it very efficient at cleaning heavy oxidation and above surface contamination, but can leave very fine hazing on soft clear coats. I have used it on a hard, black Audi and it did not dull or haze the clear coat, but it is Collinite`s belief that some hazing can occur on softer finishes.

That said, Collinite Prewax Cleaner is an amazing prep step on gel-coats and hard paint finishes, such as on a boat, R.V., or industrial equipment.

I guess I`ll stick to ordering P21s or PB pro polish

Very interesting. I have never noticed it to haze even on softer SS paints but it has been a while since I used it and I never used an aggressive pad with it. Definately something to store in the memory bank. Thanks for sharing your info!!
